This book is full of profound words that make the deepest and darkest parts of our human messiness feel seen, beautiful, heard, and not alone. You’ll want to scream into a pillow, dance in the rain, throat punch that man who hurt you, run along the raging river, hold your best friend just a few more seconds and soak up the sun peacefully in a glade of flowers. Reading this poetry transcends you to these places because feelings you’ve never been able to put to words finally have a space to form and be heard.
It’s is brave and vulnerable to share these parts with the world, and you’ve done it beautifully! I’m very grateful to have heard part of your story, your pain, and your hope.

Some of the poems in this collection moved me to tears. Others filled me with inspiration. Still others felt like a hug, a soft blanket, a warm cup of tea. Kaela’s talent and ability to capture the course of human emotion is otherworldly. She is indeed in a league of her own. Frankly, I hesitated to read it, concerned that I might awaken demons. And it was like a sucker-punch in the gut taking my breath away!
